For the good of all the restaurants that own a terrace, 40Downtown was born in the scorching summer of 2011, this is no coincidence that at the same time one of our restaurants had open a lounge area for the enjoyment of all those who are looking for shelter under an umbrella to find some peace from the implacable fury of our God Sun, I introduced myself into a calypso like atmosphere place, with gourmet sea food and a great view, plus the most innovated cold drinks in the Historic center of Lima. No, I am not talking of a Californian Movie, I’m writing from the ease of Ziu.
Tracking down the steps of a famous chef, Known for her bright victories in more than one cooking contest and the Al dente cooking style she use to prepare almost everything. I found Her, when by no coincidence was invited to taste the food of this restaurant, hence the appearance of Mrs. Luzmila, I didn’t wanted to overview the innovated mixes of passion fruit and natural vitamins, ingredients that Johnny was highly recommending me to try, with Johnny towards me cheering every sip that I dash from his novelty cold drink named Miske Perur I thought my verdict had no othere choice than the possitive, but I truly believe that braking the law is the task of every revolutionary movement, so as mixing Cherimoya With strawberry and guanabana in a tricolor presentation cold drink, will for sure create a revolution.
The waiting for the reunion with al dente cooking style was growing me weary, but patience is the virtue of the wise, I didn’t want to corrupt that reputation, and having my orders on the way there was no rush to flush, so I tried to feel the environment, wasn’t really a try, Ziu has this charming sight from its tables in the lounge area, the 90 degrees angle sight- to be more specific- displays the Cathedral, the municipality and the Palacio de Gobierno plus the urban happenings that reassure what Shakespeare said 400 years ago.
‘’All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players’’
Another opportune visit from Johnny to my table vanished the oleograma, he wanted to comment as a preamble that the restaurant is focused on five kinds of food as part of the development, and fusion was an obligatory stop in the journey, soon Chinese and Peruvian food along with Italian fusion will become the dishes of high demand. Even though my answer now to this idealistic speech was a nod and a smile, as a French Revolution lover I support this ideals and applause your endeavors for transcend the laws of gravity in the kitchen.
The first dish was brought by a gentle waitress that smile to my overwhelming state and finely presented the dish as Classic ceviche, nothing far from the average , this one came straight out of the Menu list, so the chef didn’t pay any attention to the preparation rather than her subtle but strict rules, she noticed that I was in the restaurant specially to make a review of the dishes, and she thought of her specialty to please my palate and tacitly forced me to write a good review. Arroz con Mariscos was the elected one, this is a very popular dish in the north of Peru and chef luzmila knew the right way to find that typical ethnic taste, the decoration was impressive! (take a look to the VideoMap) I was afraid to brake the castle of fried plankton she did, but a man has to do what a man has to do, so I stub my fork into the delicious engine and started my journey to the northern lands of al dente style.
All in all my visit to Ziu Restaurant this sunny afternoon was a relaxing stop in the middle of a chilling day, exactly what I needed, after being on a free city tour for one hour and 30 minutes, my reality is not far from the many visitors to this lands, so I cheer you to visit this restaurant, weather you are hungry, thirsty or in the hunt for an oasis in downtown.
Hope you like this restaurant!
