Finally a restaurant in downtown that offers, besides a nice view and comfortable atmosphere, a creole buffet at a reasonable price!
I visited ‘’La Muralla Restaurant – Lounge’’ today and I swear I’ll be back soon, La Muralla Restaurant who’s prestige got earned in 2008 by winning a cuisine contest for the best Lomo Saltado in Downtown, and after having won the second place for the best Ceviche in the same contest on the year 2010, leaves no chance for doubt at the moment of choosing a restaurant to delight our palates, during a brief chat with Michael Hener the owner of the place, he put the ideals of the restaurant on the table by announcing that what draws the line of difference in this restaurant is the attention (they have a Metre’d in the dinner room) and the delicious food; The location wich is nothing common due its located in an historic part of Lima, named El Parque de la Muralla’’, muralla means wall in English, this Park owns a piece of the heritage that Spain left during 16 century, at that time in history Peru was the target for pirates and buccaneers who wanted to invade the city and snatch the many treasures that the Spanish had robbed before, in order to protect the City of Lima the Spanish Crown ordered to built an 11 kilometer and 9 meters high wall that in the 17 century was destroyed along with other constructions by an earthquake that lasted 3 minutes, after this in the 19 century the big wall was destroyed due the City’s expansion purposes. This expansion is what made possible the construction of La Muralla Restaurant, that is located right on top of the sediments of the Historic wall. Peruvian food its causing sensation all over the world this days, that shoulnd’t be a surprise, it’s the logical result of the equation, let me explain: Peruvian food it’s a mix of many ethnic cuisines like the African and European. Highlighting the Italian and Chinese, all of this cultures measured and well mixed to amuse the world, that’s why there’s no palate that can stand not being seduced by the stroke of a Peruvian Flavor! Come and try Lomo Saltado, Ceviche, Aji de Gallina, Papa a la Huancaina and more… all of this together in a table, not as long as the wall, but long and steady enough to contain all the flavors that will ease your senses with the stroke of Peruvian Taste.
Fuimos el martes para el buffet pero no encontramos, espero pongan las fechas, de todas maneras probamos el lomo saltado y nos gusto. recomendaremos este resto en guayaquil.
